![]() Another example is someone who wanted 150 ft range and people were recommending an r hop. An example would be when someone wanted 25 rps and crisp trigger response, and then someone recommended 13:1 gears and a Lonex A2. Now some of these parts lists are quite good, but are, most of the time, not what the OP needs. These people have a set list of parts and then copy it to every build as a recommendation. Not gonna name names here, but some of the people I talk to will know who I mean. This is mostly the case with some of the new ish members who are trying to learn to tech. Some info given is straight up wrong, an example of which would be when someone recommends something like a high speed motor in a trigger response build, or an AIM piston because it is "better than an SHS blue."īut when the above is not the case, I see misleading info alot of the time also. ![]() ![]() Worst of all, some of the people mentioned in (2.), are giving misinformation, or at least, misleading information. We tell people to research because we want the best from them."ģ. If they just expect to be spoon fed, they'll drop in parts, and nothing will work right. If someone is willing to do the research they need to do, then they will be willing to do the mods they need to have a successful build. Which one do you think produces a more productive society?Īlso, in the words of Star_Folder: "By telling someone to do their own research, we are helping. With research, you are rewarded for doing work. With spoon feeding, you are rewarded for not doing any work. In your research you learn other related information in addition to the info sought.ģ. Why is research better and spoon feeding?Ģ. If you look at ASM, if someone asks to be spoon fed, 95% of the time, the first post will be "Use the search bar." This leads to people actually doing research. There really needs to be more of this if we want a better quality forum. On this forum, there is a lack of people saying "Use the search bar." whenever someone comes in here asking for a parts list. People need to do their own research and not be spoon fed. People spoon feeding the people mentioned in (1.) THIS NEEDS TO STOP. I have already proposed a suggested format for what info people should include for help. And most of them don't even include the right info for us to help. There are SO MANY of these its ridiculous. People asking for a parts list to be given to them aka asking to be spoon fed. So in my browsing of this subforum recently, I've noticed a couple of things that just, frankly, piss me off.ġ.
